The solid control system, also known as the solid particle control system, is one of the eight major components of drilling engineering. It is responsible for supplying mud during the drilling process. The solid control system filters, separates, and adjusts the mud feedback from the drilling rig, allowing the drilling fluid to be recycled. It is also known as the mud purification system, making the drilling process safer and smoother.
The solid control system generally consists of mud vibrating screen, vacuum degasser, desander desilter integrated machine, drilling fluid centrifuge, agitator, mixer, mud gas separator, electrical control system, sand pump, and 3 to 9 mixing tanks; the tanks and compartments of the entire circulation system can be separated and interconnected to meet the needs of drilling operations, with the bottom valve of the suction pipe manifold being flexible in opening and reliable in sealing after closing. These solid control equipment perform their respective functions to ensure the separation and treatment of particles such as cuttings and mud in drilling fluid, maintain the performance of drilling fluid, and store circulating drilling fluid. They are used to improve the physical and chemical properties of drilling fluid to meet the needs of drilling operations.
